I think all Scandinavian people share the same love for this. Salt liquorice. It's just the best sweet that is out there. Turkisk peppar, kritor, djungelvral.... The list can go on.
After living in the UK for many years now, it's been one of those things that I've always craved from Sweden. My mum's kindly sent her fair share of packages of the good stuff and Scandinavian kitchen's online store in London has had many deliveries to my door. But now.... thank god. I've found it. In bath! I've lived here almost four years and I didn't know that Mr Simms old Sweet shop on Westgate street has had it all these years. This is happiness. If you've never tried some proper liquorice you really should. And I'm not talking the sweet kind, like Liquorice Allsorts and that sort of crap. Proper salt liquorice.

Went out in Brixton on Friday night. Interesting. Good fun though i have to say... Spent my Saturday strolling around Brixton market, checking out the latest afro wigs and eating delicious street food. I'm adding Brixton to one of my favourite London spots now. Always something interesting to see and do. Before heading back to Bath a quick stop at Borough market in south east London was a must.

Home after a very long day at work. One of those days that feels like they go on forever, and you can't really see the end of it. Yes, that was today.
But now. I'm home. And starving for some dinner.

Yes. I'm alive. And back. After two eventful months i feel ready to do this again.
Where the hell have I been?.... at home, on a emotional roller coaster that slowly is starting to slow down. Me and my boyfriend of five years decided to break up. Probably the hardest decision I've ever done. But it was the right one. We divided our things and our life together and moved our separate ways. I lost inspiration to write and to take pictures. I needed a break from everything and everyone. I moved in with a girlfriend and started again. From scratch it felt like. I still wake up in my new flat and wonder where the hell i am. Then Christmas came and christmas went. And so did the new year. I decided that 2012 was gonna be the best year. And so far it has been. I'm happy. And extremely grateful for listening to my own instincts and acting on them. Life is too short to not be completely happy.
A new year, and a new life has begun and i can't bloody wait!
and also.........i've missed you all.

London yesterday. Re-discovered Camden. That place makes me interested in life. In things. In people. I did a Tarot and Palm reading in one of the shacks around the market. I was curious about my future. The cards were interesting. I think.
Later in the evening we enjoyed some tasty Caribbean food with rum cocktails. Finished the night off in Roundhouse where Lykke Li did an amazing show. What a girl. What a day.

Today is my day off. And i'm off to London with friends to have a chill day in the capital. And of course, Lykke Li is playing at roundhouse tonight. Which I can imagine is gonna be pretty amazing. Well....I will just have to update you this time! London inspires me, so posting plenty of photos on the blog will definitely be happening.

Had a great day off in London yesterday. Went to Steve McCurry's photography exhibition. Absolutely love his work. You probably recognise one of his most famous pictures 'the Afghan girl' (read here) with the piercing green eyes.
Also checked out Mr Brainwash art exhibition which was a pretty cool. The rest of the day was mostly about eating and drinking nice things. Took my friend Kelv to the Nordic Bakery to try some Karelian pies and wild blueberry juice.....and then ended the night in Momo for some Moroccan mint tea. Good times.

Skyped with my little sister this morning. She told me that she had just been to her local bakery. She goes there almost every morning and buys this amazing Italian Focaccia bread. (she lives in Italy).
Suddenly. I got this craving. I wanted Focaccia too. So I went to Bertinet's Bakery and got some.
It was nice. But not the same. The Italians know what they're doing. And they do it the best.

I made this Salt and Vinegar potato salad today for lunch. It was really nice. And tasty. If you're a fan of S&V crisps, you should definitely try this one. I'm a bit lazy and can't be bothered to write the whole recipe down for you guys so I will just link to the site I found it on. CLICK HERE. It was easy. I just changed the original recipe slightly. I used new potatoes instead and added fresh green beans.

During the spring/summer months I don't use any foundation. I always think that it's good for the skin to breath for six months of the year. And also, it's hard to always match the foundation with your skin tone when you've got a tan.. But October month is creeping up and... my face needs it. Clinique's super moisture makeup is my all time favourite.

Most of my beauty products I buy online nowadays. Just because it's easy and I know what I want. Also it's cheaper. And they always add loads of free samples of stuff to try with the delivery. And that I like. There is nothing worse than department stores that are cheap with giving out samples, even though they've got loads of them behind the beauty counter. I know, because I've had plenty of friends that's been working behind those department store beauty counters. I mean who wants to buy a face serum for £60 if you haven't even tried it on your face. A little test on the back of my hand doesn't convince me to buy an expensive product. Not sure what I wanted to say with this post. Just saying.

Strolled around the park. The colours this time of the year are amazing!

Tuesday is my day off. Decided to go for a walk. Sun is shining, i'm feeling good. Took some pictures in the park and realised summer is long gone. Suddenly the sky went completely grey then a darker shade grey and then came the rain. And more rain. Took shelter under a tree. Stood there for 45 minutes and just waited for the rain to stop. I waited some more...and then some more....My good mood started to turn sour. Two squirrels decided to put on a show for me in the tree next to me. Fucking animals. The rain never stopped so I decided to just walk home. By this time soaking wet, swearing and in a shit mood. So now I'm gonna bake. And eat cake.
